‘Blasting Congress’ by Jack O’Brien
I was – was – a big John Boehner fan. But I’m just not seeing it anymore.
Every time Obama violates his constitutional authority, Speaker Boehner makes a speech. He may as well have a coke or take his dog for a walk. He hasn’t changed a thing, hasn’t made an impact and hasn’t even said anything I remember except “Hell no!” Did “Hell no” stop Obama? Hell no.
The Speaker has certain tools at his command that he could use to exert different kinds of pressure on the president. He can pressure for legislation. He can pressure for investigation. He can pressure for adherence to Constitutional authority. He can pressure for media coverage.
We’ve seen nothing of the sort.
Was there pressure put on Obama for any – any – of his extra Constitutional forays? None that I can recall. We still have the fascism of GE, Chrysler, GM, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. We still have dead Federal Agents on the Mexican border, we still have Black Panthers who had admitted guilt walking free after threatening voters. We still have lawless Obama advisors, tax cheats and others. We have a demand from the government that Catholics abandon their faith. We have the refusal to defend the country through strengthening of our oil resources and supplies. We have disregard for financial responsibility to such an extreme it can only be deliberate.
Where is the bill to repeal Obamacare, Mr. Speaker? Where is the daily drumbeat against Obama’s fascism? Where are the bills to secure our border, to reassure Catholics that their faith is valued above the hims of a Marxist ideologue? Where are the bills to prohibit the president from appointing tax cheats to serve him. Where is the bill authorizing Keystone XL?
Where is the bill of impeachment?
Where is your courage?
